Endeavour Energy crews worked throughout the night to restore power to a further 9,000 customers following Wednesday’s intense storm that caused significant damage to the network. Overnight efforts concentrated on major repair works across Western Sydney, the Hills District, Hawkesbury and surrounds, South-West Sydney and Kandos and Bylong.

Extra Endeavour Energy crews from the South Coast and Blue Mountains joined Western Sydney crews today to help restore electricity to the remaining 14,000 customers in the worst affected areas impacted by yesterday’s wild windstorm. Our goal is to restore power to as many customers as possible by late this evening, however given the scale and complexity of damage, we expect the repair efforts will extend into tomorrow for about 5,000 customers.

To report electrical emergencies or power outages
Treat all powerlines as 'live' and dangerous by keeping at least 8m clear of them. Never drive across fallen powerlines.
Avoid all contact with wires that are hanging low, or on the ground or tangled in trees.
If using portable generators, please ensure they are located outside of your home and well away from open windows to avoid deadly exhaust fumes entering your home.
Generators should never be connected to switchboards unless there is an isolation switch installed by a licensed electrician. This is to avoid sending electricity back up powerlines and making isolated parts of the network dangerous for workers and the broader community.
